First Street Improvement Project


The long awaited First Street Improvement Project will be underway in spring 2019.  The Project will entail streetscape improvements on First Street from Oak to Harrison, which will include pedestrian-friendly sidewalks and crosswalks, enhanced lighting, downtown appropriate street trees, as well as benches, signage, and trash receptacles.  The Project also includes improvements to the Second Street Parking Lot (behind the Post Office) and the alleyways from Cleveland to Garfield Streets.

The current working Project Timeline:

  • Engineering and Design: thru January 11, 2019
  • Construction Documents Complete - Out to Bid:  thru February 14, 2019
  • Contractor Selected and Approved:  February 25, 2019
  • Pre-Construction Coordination:  thru March 2019
  • Construction Underway:  Spring 2019
  • Project Complete:  November 2019
