Mayor Declares April Child Abuse Prevention Month

Woodburn Deputy Chief Marty Pilcher presented Liberty House Executive Director Alison Kelly with the City’s Child Abuse Prevention Month Proclamation at tonight’s City Council meeting.

The proclamation states April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and the City’s overpass lights are blue in honor of that designation.

Liberty House is a child abuse assessment center serving Marion and Polk counties – the only place providing special assessment services in a safe, comfortable, child-friendly environment.

“As a police officer for 29 years and having supervised criminal investigation units on two separate occasions, I can attest how important Liberty House’s work is in not only providing a wide variety of services to victims and their families but also assist in these residents receiving justice,” Deputy Chief Pilcher said.
