to the history of Woodburn.

A scanned document containing the history of Woodburn as written in 1902 by the staff of the Woodburn Independent. The
document focuses on prominent citizens in Woodburn at the time. The resolution of the document is of poor quality due to
the age of the paper, but a higher-resolution copy will be scanned and posted in the near future, so check back soon.
"When Houses Had Porches"
This short book, available at the
Woodburn Public Library, was published in 1989 to commemorate Woodburn's Centennial. It contains stories written by long-time
residents of Woodburn about the early days of our community, when houses still had porches. For Woodburn history buffs, very good
reading.

This brief history was written by Ivan C. Parker in 1940 as a term paper for his History 337 class. The report was retyped
and formatted for publication on the web, but the text was unchanged. We aren't sure about the historical accuracy of Ivan's
report, but it does make for interesting reading.
