Term of Office: Jim Cox took office as Councilor of Ward 4 in December 2002. The term expires in 2006.

Ward 4: Ward 4 includes the portion of the City lying west of Boones Ferry Rd., east of the I-5 Freeway, and north of Highway 214. It also includes the land lying south of Highway 214, north of Hayes Street, west of Settlemier Street, and east of Cascade Drive.

Background: Jim has lived in Woodburn, in Senior Estates, since 1989. He began his service with the City of Woodburn when he was appointed to the Planning Commission by then Mayor Nancy Kirksey in 1997. He served on the Planning Commission until elected to the City Council in 2002. For the last year on the Planning Commission he served as its Chairman.

Profession: Jim has been an attorney in private practice in Oregon since 1957. He had his office in Lake Oswego for 28 years until 1998. Since then he has practiced part-time out of his home-office in Woodburn.
