The Woodburn Public Library provides access to the Internet to patrons of the library. The Library uses PC Reservation software to schedule our Internet computer use. All patrons will need a library card to use the computer. Out-of-area guests must register with the librarian at the Reference Desk. We cannot accept telephone reservations for Internet use.

Individuals 13 years of age and older may use the Internet computers in the adult reference area; those 12 years of age and under must use the Internet computers in the youth services area. (Call the Youth Services department at 503-982-5260 to ask about their specific policies.)

Please read the Sign-Up Procedures prior to using the Woodburn Public Library's Internet computers for the first time.

Adult Sign-up Procedures

Schedule your Internet session in person with name and library card number, in the adult/reference area of the library. The Self-Service Reservation Station allows you to choose the type of computer and sign-on time you want.

Each patron may schedule up to 60 minutes of computer time per day. This time may be divided as desired and available between three types of computers: 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 10 minutes.

These computers offer Internet access plus Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, & Publisher), and assorted other programs and reference tools.

Reservations are held for five minutes, after which the time will be reassigned.

Rules of Use for Adult Reference Area Computers

Youths 13 years old and older may use the Adult Reference area computers independently. However, monitoring what a minor views on the Internet remains the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Children under 13 years of age may not use the Adult computers unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

One person per computer. Exceptions will be made for homework, instruction, joint projects, or parents with children.

Printing costs $.05 per page for black and white or $0.75 per page for color. Please pay for and pick up printing at the Reference Desk.

Noisy and rowdy behavior will result in suspension of the current computer session. Any patron causing repeated problems will have his/her computer privileges revoked.

Each person must use his or her own card. Any patron found to be using someone else's card will have his/her computer privileges revoked.

The computer screens are not private and may be visible to others. It is unacceptable to view inappropriate Internet sites.
