The Department accomplishes this mission by supporting community recreation and parks activities through:

	stewardship of public resources and a focus on community vision;
	providing opportunities for fun, fitness, competition and learning;
	promoting strong families through programming in prevention, involvement and health alternatives;
	providing our community with places of natural beauty, quiet contemplation, family activities, and community programs;
	facilitating skilled volunteers making a significant contribution through their services to the benefit of our community; and
