Street Maintenance Section
The Street Maintenance Section is involved with several projects year around. Major responsibilities for this section are City
street pavement, grading, street signs, painting and striping, street tree trimming, street leaf removal, and sanding streets. The
Section staff maintains a high level of safety precautions, following OSHA equipment and procedure requirements, and provides
support to the Engineering Division during construction projects. To report a street sign repair, please contact our office at
(503)982-5236 or e-mail servicerequest.maintenance@ci.woodburn.or.us and the request will be forwarded to the
appropriate personnel.
Grounds Maintenance Section
The Grounds Maintenance Section maintains all of the City parks. Services includes mowing, grounds leaf pickup, catch basin
clean up, drainage ditch clean up, and tree trimming and planting. Their most recent and on-going project is the assembly, with
the help of the Woodburn Rotary Club, of the gazebo at the Downtown Plaza. Every December the Grounds Maintenance personnel
coordinates the arrangement of the Downtown Plaza Holiday tree and lights in preparation for our Tree Lighting event. The entire
staff takes pride in beautifying the City's most utilized parks and works in conjunction with our Community Services Department
to accomplish this.
Facility and Fleet Maintenance Section
The Facility and Fleet Maintenance Section provides services for all City owned facilities, vehicles and equipment which includes
Woodburn City Hall, City Hall Annex Building, Maintenance Building, Drinking Water Building, Wastewater and Collections Building,
Police Department Building, Public Library, Aquatics Center and other publically owned buildings. The project requests are assessed,
safety measure precautions are established and carried out, and code compliancy is primary prior to project completion. The Fleet
Maintenance personnel have established guidelines for maintaining City vehicles and providing fast turn-around time to prevent any
disruption in schedules
2009 Fall Leaf Program
City Council adopted a leaf pickup program for the residents of Woodburn. The leaf program is necessary for safety reasons and for cost effectiveness to the
Community. The City streets are swept on a monthly basis. Sweeping is performed twice a week on the main streets in the Downtown Core Area, between Settlemier
Avenue to First Street and between Harrison Street to Oak Street, due to the numerous large trees.
Leaf drop-offs will be for Residents only (no Commercial drop-off). The only location designated this year will be at the parking area on Second Street behind
the Woodburn Post Office between Lincoln Street and Grant Street. This area will have staff available, will be gated and rules and regulations will be posted.
With the other locations unavailable, the Maintenance Division will have pick-up days for Seniors who are unable to make drop-offs. Scheduling must be made in
advance. Pick-up times are from 8:00 AM-11:30 AM on Fridays on the following dates: November 13th & 20th and December 11th & 18th. Please, contact our
Maintenance Division office at (503)982-5236.
For more information regarding the Fall Leaf Program, please download the 2009 Fall Leaf Pickup Program Flyer (Bilingüe) or call the Public Works department at 503-982-5240.
