The Transit Bus operates on a route that covers the major areas of the city once an hour. The bus runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The bus does not operate on Saturdays, Sundays, or major holidays. Adult fare is $1.00; children age six (6) and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Discount passes are available from the driver for $15.00 and are good for 20 rides. Bus schedules are available on the bus or at City Hall.
Dial-a-Ride Program - The transportation for elderly and disable persons, who cannot utilize the fixed Transit bus route, is provided by the Dial-a-Ride program. This service utilizes a paratransit van that is operated on Mondays through Fridays. Requests for service must be made 24 hours in advance by calling 982-7433. The van provides door-to-door transportation for local shopping and medical appointments. The fare is $3.00.
Dial-a-Ride also arranges for volunteer drivers to take elderly or disabled Woodburn residents to medical appointments in the local area, Salem and Portland. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required and reservations can be made by calling 982-7433. Donations are accepted for this service. Any senior citizen, 60 or over, interested in being a volunteer Dial-a-Ride driver, please contact the Dial-a-Ride Coordinator at 982-7433.
Other local and regional transportation options can be found at the Mid-Valley Rideshare site. The site is operated by the City of Salem, and is an excellent resource for carpooling information, vanpool listings, regional railway information, and a wide variety of other options available to residents of the Mid-Willamette Valley region.
Intercity transportation is provided in the Woodburn area by the Chemeketa Area Regional Transportation System (CARTS). Four routes are offered daily starting in Hubbard, with two stops in Woodburn, and ending in Salem at Courthouse Square. To learn more about this service, click here.
