Welcome to the Home Page for the Woodburn Public Works Water Division.  Our main goal is to deliver to the people of Woodburn potable water which is free from health hazards and meets the domestic, commercial, industrial and fire protection needs of the community.  To learn more about Woodburn water quality, read the new "2005 Woodburn Water Quality Report" available in Adobe Acrobat format, Also in Spanish.

We do this by maintaining the source of water (six [6] wells), a delivery system , and a storage system (two elevated storage tanks - one 60,000 and one 750,000 gallons), complying with EPA and DEQ regulations, analyzing contamination sources and taking corrective action, developing proper controls for the system and making necessary improvements, and assisting in the cross-connection program.

City residents and businesses use an average of 1.8 million gallons of water a day. The City maintains the water mains and service lines up to the property line which includes the meters. Property owners are responsible for maintaining the service from the property line to their house.

BILLING: Water meters are read and combined water/sewer bills are sent once a month.  The Finance Department is responsible for receiving the water and sewer bills, and more information can be found at their site.

LEAK: In case of a leak in a customer’s service line, please call Rosemarie Sanchez in the Finance Department at (503)982-5218. She will notify Water Maintenance to verify the report. After the leak is repaired, the Billing representative will send the leak adjustment information to the Engineering Division for analysis and adjustment. If a leak in the City’s main line is observed, call the City as soon as possible or call police dispatch during non-work hours.

EMERGENCY SHUT OFF: Residents should know where their water shut-off valve is at the house. If needed, the Water Division can turn off the water at the meter. In an emergency, call the Water Division at 982-5235 during regular work hours or the Police Department at 982-2340 after hours or on weekends.
