Volunteers Plant 800 Trees at Legion Park

Volunteers from Boy Scout Troops 391 & 45 along with local American Legionnaires, park neighbors and students from Success Alternative High School planted 800 trees along Mill Creek on the west side of Legion Park. The Marion Soil and Water Conservation District helped with funding and technical assistance and the City's Public Works Department lent a hand.

The Recreation and Parks Department offers a variety of avenues for individuals, businesses and service organization to serve Woodburn through volunteering. Adopt-A-Park Program

Introduction

Government officials have recognized the many benefits associated with implementing Adopt-A-Park programs across the state of Oregon. In creating an Adopt-A-Park program, the City of Woodburn will be able to provide local citizens the opportunity to help beautify and care for city parks while assisting the City in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive parks for its citizens.

Purpose

The City of Woodburn Public Works is responsible for maintaining eleven developed park sites throughout the City. The attractiveness of many of the parks can be enhanced with the assistance of concerned citizens and organizations willing to donate their time and efforts in support of park maintenance and beautification programs.
