Wastewater Rate Increase Approved by City Council

At their meeting on February 10, 2020, the Woodburn City Council approved implementing proposed wastewater system rate increases that will occur in three incremental steps over a period of 22 months. They are:

5% on March 1, 2020
5% on January 1, 2021
5% on January 1, 2022.

 
Why is this happening?
 
Wastewater rates haven’t increased in more than 6 years. These rate increases will ensure that the sewer fund generates sufficient revenues necessary to fund increasing operational & maintenance costs, as well as important capital improvement projects.
