Woodburn Police Department Community Police Academy 2026

EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY WE SERVE
The Woodburn Police Department is pleased to announce this year’s 2026 Community Academy. The Academy is a chance for Woodburn residents to participate and learn about the different aspects of their local police department, dispatch services and related resources.
Details:
- Course length: 8 sessions between March 5th – April 23rd, 2026 (See below for course schedule)
- Program members will attend one 3-hour training session a week. Each session will be on a Thursday evening from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and one Saturday April 18th from 9am to noon.
- Topics covered include:
- WPD history
- Metcom/Dispatch
- Code enforcement
- Laws
- Use of force
- K9
- And more

All applicants must complete an application/registration form and liability/release and hold harmless waivers through the Woodburn Police Department website. Due to the law enforcement-related information to be shared throughout the citizens' police academy course, the Woodburn Police Department will conduct a criminal background check on each applicant to the class. Please complete the application in full.

Applicants can also stop by the Woodburn Police Department at 1060 Mt. Hood Ave., Woodburn, during business hours to pick up and drop off the forms in person. Space is limited. The deadline to turn in the forms is February 9th, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
