Business Registration Requirements/Information

All businesses operating within Woodburn city limits must obtain a Business Registration Certificate.

Please review Municipal Code Chapter 8-11 for more information on the Business Registration Ordinance. This ordinance does not reflect any additional requirements from the state or county.

Transient Occupancy Tax

The City of Woodburn collects a nine percent (9%) Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) which goes directly into the General Fund. Proceeds are used for support of tourism and general municipal services.

A transient is any individual who exercises occupancy for a period of 30 consecutive calendar days or less, counting portions of calendar days as full days.  Each transient shall pay a tax in the amount of nine percent (9%) of the rent charged by the operator (Proprietor of the hotel in any capacity).

Request a Copy of Police Records

Request for reports are handled in the order in which they are received. Within five working days, Records will send a written response. The response will include an estimated processing fee and time to process the request. After payment is received, reports are typically available within five to ten working days. The City of Woodburn is a Council-Administrator form of government operating pursuant to a City Charter.

Woodburn City Ordinances are laws which govern the City of Woodburn.

Municipal Court

***As a reminder: The Finance Department opens at 9AM on the SECOND and FOURTH Friday of each month. Check your calendars to plan ahead.***

 

Municipal Court is the Judicial Branch of Municipal Government. The Municipal Court adjudicates violations and parking cases, municipal ordinances, state statutes, and miscellaneous matters as provided by ordinance.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is for babies and young children who have not yet started kindergarten!  Reading a lot of books with your child prior to kindergarten helps prepare them to learn to read in school.  Sound like a lot of books?  Reading just 1 book every night for a year will result in 365 books!
