First Street Improvement Project

Woodburn: Project Introduction

The long awaited First Street Improvements Project will be underway in early 2019. The project will include streetscape improvements on First Street between Oak and Harrison Streets, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, crosswalks, improved 2nd Street parking lot, and alleyway beautification. Project engineering and design is currently underway and is anticipated to wrap up in late 2018. 

City Attorney

The City Attorney’s Office represents and provides legal advice to the Mayor, City Council, Woodburn Planning Commission, and other boards, commissions, and departments of the City. The department prepares ordinances and resolutions, gives advice regarding general municipal law issues, represents the City in litigation, and handles traffic and code violations in municipal court.

The department also handles legal matters related to the implementation and application of land use regulations and provides services related to land sales, acquisitions, and leases.

City Administrator, Scott Derickson

City of Woodburn Administrator Scott Derickson has served in leadership positions in Oregon’s regional, county and municipal governments for over 23 years, holding extensive expertise in local government, financial and budget management, community and  organizational development, leadership, economic development, human resources and crisis management. His academic credentials include both graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Oregon’s Department of Planning, Public Policy & Management Department.

Recreation & Parks Board

The Woodburn Recreation and Parks Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday each month at 6:00 p.m. at this time virtually.

Public Art Mural Committee

Communities in the Northwest incorporate murals into their cityscapes, creating community pride and drawing visitors to these communities.
