Planning Division

Welcome to the City of Woodburn Planning Division. We are located inside City Hall at 270 Montgomery Street. 

The Planning Division is tasked with considering and balancing a variety of factors and stakeholders in order to provide professional guidance and expertise on land use and growth management decisions for the community. This work is done in two functional areas within the department - current planning (reviewing land development projects) and long-range planning (developing long term plans for growth and how to serve it).

 

Transit

Woodburn Transit Service provides safe and reliable public transportation for residents, workers, and visitors traveling within the Woodburn region.

Parks and Recreation

 

The Woodburn Recreation and Parks Department looks to enrich the lives of its diverse community members by providing quality recreation and well-maintained parks and facilities through education, sports and events.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is an advisory body to the City Council regarding Type IV and V land use / planning / zoning applications, and the Community Development Director is the staff liaison to the Commission.

The Commission per Woodburn Development Ordinance (WDO) 1.05 & 5.03 is also the decision-making body for Type III land use / planning / zoning applications such as:

Woodburn Parks

The City of Woodburn occupies over 230,000 square feet of buildings and has over 110 acres of grounds and park facilities.  These community assets are maintained by the Parks & Facilities Maintenance Division, which consists of 6 (Six) full time City employees.  City staff is augmented with seasonal part-time staff and commercial contracts to keep our buildings and grounds safe, clean, and attractive.
